Let Us Take the Stress Out of Opening or Closing Your Pool!

OPENING PROCEDURES:

• Leave your ladder, handrail(s), and cover bag (if you have one) out in the pool area. (The guys DO NOT enter sheds, basements, or garages)
• If you shut the breaker off for the winter, make sure it is back on so there is power to the pump
• Make sure all the water & leaves are removed from the cover. 

        THE GUYS DO NOT PUMP OFF COVERS OR CLEAN THEM!                         

• Make sure the water level is in the middle of the skimmer or above.
• If you normally lock your gate, make sure it is unlocked

CLOSING PROCEDURES:

• Make sure to get water chemistry balanced before closing to prevent a green pool.
• Make sure you leave your gate unlocked
• Lower the water level to 2” below the skimmer. (IF WATER IS NOT LOWERED THE SERVICE GUYS WILL LEAVE AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RESCHEDULE YOUR CLOSING)
• Be sure to mark the water line with a piece of tape by the skimmer in case of any leaks (this could warrant the need for a new liner and cover in spring)
• Disable the timer so the pump does not turn back on once the pool is closed
• Do not shut off the breaker yet, there needs to be power for the blower
• For a REGULAR COVER, please leave water bags out by the pool, along with cover
• Leave out covers, plugs, & skimmer gizmo (If plugs & skimmer gizmo are not left out, we will provide new ones (additional fee). This ensures the longevity of your pool lines during the months closed.

Common Questions During Opening Calls

Q. That day does not work for me. Can I have a different day (Mon, Tues Wed, etc)?

A. Unfortunately, No. The only thing we can do from this point is put you on for another week. We can’t promise specific days or times because of the volume of service calls and the fluctuation of how long each job will take.

Q. What does an opening include?

A. Removal of cover, removal of winter plugs and put in return jets, Install ladder & handrail(s), Prime pump, add (2) shimmer shocks and 1 gallon of algaecide.

Q. What is NOT included in an opening?

Pool cleaning, water testing, extra chemicals, salt, etc, and repairs

Q. What does a closing include?

A. Removal of return jets and put in winter plugs, install gizmos into skimmer(s), removal of ladder and handrail(s), drain water from pool equipment (filter, heater, pump), add antifreeze, winterize, (2) shimmer shocks

Q. What is a green treat during openings/closings?

A. Adding 10 gallons of liquid chlorine & Poly60 Algaecide to a green pool to kill the algae overgrowth at opening, or used as a preventative at closing time to help combat algae growth during closed months.

Q. How do payments work?

A. Upon confirming your appointment day, we collect a nonrefundable deposit of $25, which will be deducted from the total. At the time of service, payment is due. If paying with a check, payment must be left where the service team can retrieve it, if not, the service will be rescheduled. If paying by card, the payment will be processed after the service is completed.
